About me
Why Sarvis Imagery?
I credit my Father and Grandfather for introducing me to photography. My dad had hundreds of images from the American Southwest that he took on kodachrome slide film while studying geology through Cal Berkley in the late 60's. My Grandfather took thousands of slides in Asia and the Middle East during his career with the YMCA World Services. Initially all this exposure to beautiful imagery gave me the desire to travel. As I grew older and got my first SLR film camera (a Pentax K100 from my Grandfather) I began to enjoy the photography as much as the travel.
Never one for getting up early in the morning, I don't do a lot of landscape photography but do truly enjoy making great pictures of people. With the advent, or shall I say improvement, of digital photography I bought my first Digital SLR in the summer of 2004. From there I bought a few small flashes and started experimenting more with off camera lighting. I am now fully invested in high end Nikon equipment and pick up new studio tools all the time. I pour over photography magazines, blogs (Strobist is my favorite), books and web galleries and spend long nights learning new tricks for Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Photography truly is my passion.
More than anything else, I take great pride in being very flexible for my clients. I'll work with you till we get the images you want. Everyone has preferences and I don't try to force any one style. As you can see from my gallery I shoot people of all ages, all types of locations, and many different types of events. I enjoy the post processing almost as much as taking the pictures so we start with the raw image from the camera and go from there. With this flexible collaboration we can make great imagery and have fun in the process!
Sarvis Imagery was created as a creative outlet for me and a way to provide a flexible, fun and high quality professional experience for my clients.
